The Top 10 Medically Compromised Clients
Presenter: Jennifer Turner, RDH, B.Sc.Jennifer Turner

Are you treating your medically compromised client effectively? You will distinguish traits, treatment plans, implementation tips and evaluate your client through case studies, discussions and videos.

You will analyze the medically compromised client and come away with valuable, key information that can be implemented immediately into practice so that you are treating your client’s safely and effectively.

As our population changes, we have more baby boomers who have become medically compromised, we have seniors that are living well past 90 years old who still have their natural dentition.

Are you prepared to treat the Top 10 Medically Compromised Client’s with knowledge, expertise and without putting your client at risk?

This course is one that you can’t afford to miss as you will learn numerous useful tips and refresh your memory on the top medical conditions and how it impacts the dental hygiene appointment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the Top 10 Medically Compromised Clients.
  • Recognize how compromised clients should be treated during an effective dental hygiene appointment.
  • Understand the key role that the medical history plays during treatment.

Methodology:

Throughout the presentation there are numerous activities geared to the adult learner to help facilitate the different learning styles. This is a very engaging, yet factual and serious course that is relevant to every dental hygienist working in private practice.

The Top 10 Medically Compromised Clients has numerous resources that guides the participant to layering their knowledge and enhancing their learning.

We will be using a discussion format to find out why we are seeing a rise in the dental hygiene appointment for medically compromised patients and how this impacts everyone involved. The participants will work on case studies that involve medical emergencies in the dental office.

There are short but very effective video clips that helps the learner understand the medical condition so they are able to educate their patients more effectively after completing this course.

Participants will come away from this course with a solid understanding of the “Top 10” conditions and how to treat a patient or when to not treat a patient while using their critical thinking skills and effective communication.

This is one amazing course full of knowledge that you do not want to miss!
