FIT TO SIT WORKOUTS – 2 Opportunities to get Moving!

Tuesday, January 19th and Tuesday, February 2nd
7:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
This 45 minute workout is designed to challenge the muscles that support good posture and body alignment. We will begin with a gentle warm up and continue through a series of exercises with the intention of strengthening the muscles required to help you perform daily, repetitive tasks, pain free. By increasing your body awareness, strength and endurance we hope to reduce the incidence of acute and chronic injuries. The workout closes with a relaxing full body stretch and breath work.  You will need a sturdy chair, unrestrictive clothing, a mat or carpeted area, a towel and a clear space to move. Options for adding other resistance tools to enhance the intensity will also be explained.
Fit to Sit is facilitated by Brenda Kulik-Macaulay.  Brenda has been in the fitness industry for decades and was awarded Manitoba’s Fitness Instructor of the year for 2010. She is certified by the MFC (Manitoba Fitness Council) in Group Fitness and Resistance Training and also holds certifications for TRX Suspension Training, Group Cycling, Stability Ball, Drums Alive and is a Bellyfit Master Trainer. She teaches a wide variety of fitness classes to participants from 6-90+ years of age. Brenda along with Professor Laura McDonald developed the “Fit to Sit” program to help educate dental hygienist students on proper alignment, movement patterns and strengthening exercises that will support longevity in their career.
