We have just received a request for one more volunteer!

Location: Sir William Osler School, 1600 Grant Avenue, Room 2

Details: This presentation is for a group of 12 adult students consisting of mostly immigrants and refugees with a kindergarten level comprehension of English. The class is studying oral health and would like a short presentation on dental hygiene – max length 20-25 minutes. Basic oral hygiene and the importance of good nutrition explained in a visual/tactile way would be ideal.

We have a couple great visual/tactile ideas for you to use if you need help getting started; the use of simple pictures/clip art of good foods and bad foods is also great.

Timing: The presentation is flexible! The class runs 12:45-3:45 until June 13th. Ideally they would like the presentation as soon as possible as they’re discussing oral health right now.

Other info: The MDHA can supply toothbrushes and toothpaste for this presentation.

This would be a great opportunity to get a head start on the PAR component of the CDHM’s Continuing Competency Program 🙂

Please consider volunteering your time.
